Oh my gosh it’s my first blog post! I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for this! My main goal with Mother Trend was to create a place where mothers (or women in general) can come get ideas and inspiration for their daily lives. With all the latest trends in fashion, health, child care, it’s so easy to get overwhelmed with the mass amount of information available. Over the last 5 years, I’ve come to love myself more than I ever did. With that love came self-care. I realized how important it was to take care of me. If I’m a better person, a happier person, a balanced person; then I’ll be a better mother. I wanted to share with all the other mothers out there the tricks I’ve learned thus far, and maybe we can have a little fun too! So, without further adieu….welcome to Mother Trend!!!
Spring Fashion Picks
Spring is right around the corner! Can I get an amen? Even though the winter here in the Midwest wasn’t that awful, I still have Spring fever! With Spring comes brighter colors and fun florals. As a full-time mama, I understand the importance of looking put together without sacrificing comfort. Below you’ll find my favorite pieces for Spring.
Blush and Powder Blue
THESE COLORS! I love these colors. They’re everywhere. Blush is such a soft and feminine color that is welcome in every aspect of fashion. From pants to hats and bags, it’s such a pretty color that can be dressed up or down. Pink doesn’t have to be “dressy”, it can be relaxed as well. Sweats and athletic wear have embraced this trendy color too. I’ve linked a pair of joggers that I LOVE and also wear all the time. Another “in” color is powder blue. I love these heels pictured. They’re playful and pretty. They truly embrace Spring weather. Throw em’ on with a full skirt or skinny jeans. The heel is low enough that they won’t hurt you all night long.
I am loving the 90’s vibe happening now. Never in a million years did I ever think I’d say “OMG I HAD A TOP JUST LIKE THAT!”(in 4th grade). Yes my friend, the days of chokers, smiley faces, and peace signs are among us again. However, instead of traveling back in time to our tween days, embrace the 90’s in a new and attractive way. Find yourself a top that includes the choker in the neck line. These high neck tops with the peep-hole are easy peasy and add a touch of sex appeal. I got mine at Marshall’s, but here’s one almost identical!
A Full Skirt
Usually I buy tutus for my daughter, but I just bought myself an adult one. Tulle is everywhere. Good or bad, I don’t know, but here they are. I decided to embrace it as a fun way to add texture to my look. A full pink tulle skirt doesn’t have to be “poofy” or ballerina-esque if that’s what you’re thinking. Down below is one from Forever 21 that lays delicately. However, if you want to be daring and add some volume (and a larger circumference), more power to ya girl! Below is one from Express that fits the description.
